Life on Life's Terms from addiction to recovery
It is important for me to realize that by keeping my side of the street clean I can have a profound impact upon the rest of the world. I can not give away what I don’t have and it is important for me to attend to the things that are within my sphere of influence. I can be kind, patient, loving, and tolerant. In doing this it is possible for me to have a positive impact upon those I come into contact with and it is also possible that they can transmit some of this positive energy onto others. I believe it is my responsibility to keep my side of the street clean spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically. By doing this it is much more likely for me to create a ripple of positivity throughout life. I recently realized that when I am disturbed there is something wrong with me and it is through the people, places, things, and situations where I become disturbed that I learn where my emotional vulnerabilities lie. I wonder if this operates on a positive plane as well in that when I feel at peace and ease, happy, joyous, free, and at one with the universe there are certain contributing environmental factors. If this is true then it is even more important for me to be surrounded by those factors that elicit the positive in me so that I can then transmit the same and create a more consistent and amplified ripple. I know I will never see the ripples hit the shore but if I am not spiritually fit I can not be of maximum service to others. It is important for me to grounded in gratitude because from this flows much in the way of positive thoughts and actions.
Today I will strive to bring gratitude into all of my affairs. I will seek to remember that every task I engage in has the same potential for spiritual growth and positive change.
